Strange... I have no idea what the "5 random extra followers" benefit means, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't pay extra for 5 more characters. The whole essential beauty of Twitter is in its limitations! As someone who writes more than I need to, I love Twitter because it forces conciseness. I enjoy and expect the same conciseness from the people/groups that I follow. I mean god, there's junk snail mail and e-mail spam and pop-up ads and complimentary subscriptions from print media who are bleeding money and won't compliment you by listening to your passionate request that they stop sending you their instant-recycling-material... Twitter is my safe haven, my happy place.

I can see for-profit and larger orgs paying for this service, but there is something about the way Twitter works that makes me think it was produced to avoid the visual-junk-mail of corporate identities to begin with -- if I don't want to get saturated I just don't have to follow. I see Twitter's revenue-building value in its functionality, and in other platforms accessing and using that functionality (you don't think ExecTweets has paid a nice royalty to Twitter for the brand endorsement? I do...).

Nutrition is one of the most vital, if not the most vital, keys to staying on top of your game. Just as the wrong foods can make you feel sluggish and foggy, there are foods that can make you feel more energetic and productive. Looks like the site you've mentioned is on top of all that.

If you combine this better way of eating with a healthy level of activity, you will experience a much better quality of life, not too mention a longer one.

Larry - great post. To be relevant to a increasingly distant (from the church, anyways) generation, churches will have to embrace social media and its amazing outreach potential.

I agree completely that it will be up to the "tech-savvy" church members to get the ball rolling. Individual members will have to "champion" this cause to make it happen. Hopefully they do, because as a church we are called to "go into all the world" - and social media vastly extends our outreach.

I'm a co-founder of a project called SocialChurch - we aim to give churches a presence on the social web, starting with Facebook. Check out our website and let me know what you think - www.socialchurch.com.

Great blog post, thanks again.

Very well written and my prayer is it takes root. I agree with Mr. Klement in that it almost a ministry unto itself.

It's going to be up to tech-savvy church members themselves to get this ball rolling in their local church. Most church staffs are juggling too many things in their normal schedules to take the time to learn Web 2.0 social media theory and application.
So don't just expect your church to "get with the times" just because you put this idea in their suggestion box. Perhaps THIS is YOUR personal ministry involvement in the church.

Hi Justus, I hate pushing the site I work for, but just to let your readers (and you) know that there's a lot of good Small Business and the Law information on Lawyers.com. From the types of business licenses to what determines a independent contract employee to helpful forms. More info than what's up there now will be posted shortly. I wouldn't say anything if it wasn't related to your blog post.

Good luck to your ventures!

Excellent Article! That was well written. It also address a very under utilize function for the church. As you know I am a pastor in Traing. We should start an online church. That is for another time.

I am looking forward your next article. Keep up the good work.
